The Weekend Map - 22/02/2009

Summertime is kind of drawing to a close - what’s up with the rain by the way? Seriously, Erik and I were driving down Churchill Avenue on Friday night and found ourselves in the middle of what felt like a flash flood. Actually, it probably was a flash flood. Anyway, it was a beaut and we liked it - we couldn’t see a thing at all, neither Mt Wellington nor anything across the river. It was like driving in heaven. OK, my point is - summer is almost over and I’m about to rethink my life.

Well, this isn’t exactly my point for today. My point is actually about the life after the rain - After a long night of sleep, I felt like I didn’t sleep at all.

A beautiful Saturday:

a, Salamanca. We had brunch there in Zum - Potato Rosti & Bruschetta, bought some Iris and the North Huon creamed leatherwood honey.
b, Your Habitat - a set of picnic basket
c, Eastland Village Cinema - He’s not that into you
d, BWS - Tasmanian Iron Pot Bay Unwooded Chardonnay 2006
e, Lipscombe Larder - Greek Salad, Salmon/Spinach/Bacon Quiche, Lemon Tart, Fudge A’fare handmade fudge

A sparkling Sunday:

The Lovesickness - 16/02/2009

After hastily unpacking all of the 16 boxes from CI, we had the staff dinner at the Old School on Macquarie on a Friday night. It was followed up with a long / sitting-at-home weekend. Thanks to the rain and the cold, we had to give up Salamanca and the Iris. I escaped from the optometrist on purpose as well. Instead, I met somebody I am sooooooooooo in love with in Woolie. I don’t care who had the blond moment cuz I then remembered everything from that afternoon.

This weekend, after some sort of winter experience, Hobart found the way back into its sparkling style. Erik and I had a day trip to Southport and joined the BH people down there for a little while. Us and the boys were fishing flaties and seaweeds for the whole afternoon.

1. Have you ever seen bogans in black tie? HAVE YOU???

2. Where on earth is the Earth???

3. Out of fuel and flat battery?! If there were flat tyre as well, I’d say life’s perfect now…

The Triple Paid Holiday is Officially OVER… - 01/02/2009

The 8wk triple paid holiday is officially over. Erik had his new staff orientation last Friday. Best of all, some of this city’s best kept secrets were revealed by our ggguuuiiilllttttyyy hands… Don’t ask me what they are cuz I won’t tell you and I guess you probably know better than I do.

Hobart had a couple of sizzling days last week and a sparkling Sunday today. We had a new staff brunch this morning and a BH BBQ tonight. Instead of watching Australian Open with other BH ppl, we took a drive down to the lower end of the road. My strange feeling was all proved.

Anyway, I finish this now and go packing. It’s the neat casual in sleeping bags (the what?????????).
