Love This Kiddo! - 23/01/2009

Devil wears Prada. Kiddo wears Speedo. - Erik Marr the Guru Herbalist

Photo: The guru got the herbals in the end - Rooibos, Rosebuds, Rose Petals, Wolfberry, Elderberry, Chamomile, and the Japanese Sencha.

As a guru on probation, I’d only do dot points today (no relation):

*The windy chaos’s gone
*Went to Maldini for lunch
*Housemade potato & roasted garlic gnocchi
*Mediterranean veggie risotto
*S.Pellegrino sparkling water
*Had a pleasant walk around Salamanca Square
*Bought a huge wall-decor from La Grolla and a Moresca bottle from Bormioli Rocco
*Met the kiddo in Woolies!
*The entire Lower Sandy Bay end of the Churchill Ave was glaring in the dark...

Poladroid’s way 2 cool 4 us - 22/01/2009

Nic’s sitting in front of her Macbook, being freaked out by a bunch of teens on Facebook (Nic only calls them kiddo), n’ eating Tassie cherries. She’s such a mixture of healthy n’ unhealthy…

Erik’s becoming a herbal guru!!! Sounds very healthy though…

This was where the cherries were from. A cherry farm somewhere in between Huonville and Cygnet. In the middle of nowhere.

Somewhere not far from Woodbridge I guess

There has been a big bang in our life. I reckon the mushroom cloud’s still hanging there in a funny way - well, the bang refers to the morning we bumped into 2 kiddos (it wasn’t quite like Erik bumped into Rhett or Rhett bumped into Erik in a gent’s bathroom). The mushroom cloud then refers to the evening we bumped into the kiddos’ dad.

I probably did too much prediction strategy with my kids last year. I just tell everything.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Hobart, Tasmania - The Marrs are Soaked in the World’s Freshest Air Again… - 20/01/2009

The Marrs were back to their Hobart home on the very first day of 2009 with a super duper 2009 MOLESKINE pocket diary in hand.

Batam Island, Indonesia - “Aye, aye, captain!” - 18/01/2009

One day while we were still in Singapore, Erik said he wanted to go to Batam Island in Indonesia. All I had to say was “Aye, aye, captain!”

So, on that day, we got up pretty abnormally early, called a taxi to the Harbour Front, purchased the ship tickets and went through the custom. There we went, the Penguin Express!

2 hours later, we were on Batam Island. It was just a simple day trip – we went there only for an Indonesian hot stone spa. I guess it was all because we missed the seaside Bali style massage so much… We had it in January last year on another Indonesian island.

After spa, we went to the city centre, so-called. I was surprised there was even an Uni on the island. We met a nice restaurant manager and had some Nasi Goreng as lunch. We were cool with it.

Basically, everything was wicked except for the crowded disembarkation way back to Singapore.

Singapore - Key Words: En route, Detour, Cul-de-sac, Rendezvous - 17/01/2009

The Marrs were in Singapore again (it was approximately the 11th time within 2 years) en route back to Australia. Detour? Cul-de-sac? Nope, it was the rendezvous.

We headed off to Singapore on the 24th of December. I guess this was the shortest international flight journey but the longest road trip to the airport to me, ever! The distance from KLCC to KLIA was more than 70km. It took more than an hour to get there, it was killing and it was unbelievably boring. However, the 40-min flight was incredibly pleasant.

Christmas Eve. We got off the plane, checked in the Novotel on Clarke Quay, and decided not to be one of those ordinary people. We had to be extraordinary – let’s just go to Vivo City. We had heaps to do down there. It was the very first rendezvous cuz we wanted to see the shining diamond floor, we wanted to meet the po-po in the Food Republic, we wanted to try the S’pore style Laksa and the fresh “I squeezed myself in the morning -_-;;” juice, and a lot more!

Before that, I did a little bit of reading in the hotel room about what’s on there. Consequently, I thought I might eventually fulfill my dream of buying a new SLR camera this time. But where the hell is that AH Shop? – Well, it was just a joke, seriously, a Liang Court joke… We were accompanied by this joke all the time while in Singapore.

On Christmas Day, the Marrs ran a candy shop right on the Orchard Road. It attracted people from all over the world cuz it was a sweet Christmas in the tropic. On Boxing Day and the following 2 days. We just had too many rendezvous that I’m not gonna tell you anymore. Among them, let’s just say we did say good-bye to “the oldie and mee in Autumn”.
