The very first home cooking in Perth, proudly brought to you by the Iron Chef Nichole Marr…
Last Friday (27th June), I signed off in P3, went back home, packed up our luggage, and when I went back to work at around 11.00am, I was proudly informed that the flight was cancelled!
Same time the next day (28th June), Erik took me to CLA for some “decent” lunch. We drove pass by the roundabout, the notice was still there indicating the new scheduled time. Finished off eating, we drove along the eastern coast, headed back home and planned to get our luggage ready for check in. We drove pass by the roundabout again, only 40 minutes later, the notice was saying that the flight was cancelled again!!!
Early in the morning on that Sunday (29th June), we finally were at the airport and checked in quite properly, but then were told that the flight was delayed for another hour at least cuz it was still on Cocos Islands. SO! We went down to the settlement CLA again - prawn noodle + soup noodle, and we were lucky this time!!! The plane took off at 12.30pm and arrived in Perth at 5.00pm.
We took a taxi to our East Perth apartment. The taxi driver was a Polish man (”so communist”) and Heidi the Mrs McAtee was awaiting down on the gound floor.
So, finally, we are in Perth!!! :)))

We enjoyed this cozy warm apartment very much and half an hour later, we went out for an Indian dinner with the Foos…
Okay, this was how the very first holiday weekend was spent in Christmas Island and in Perth…
